From pumpkin patches to haunted houses, there are tons of fun things to do in Southern California. Check out these ideas for your family this Halloween Season!

“CARVED” Brings Pumpkin-Filled Family Fun to Descanso Gardens

October 11-31, 2021
Carved is a family-friendly event that will take place in Descanso Gardens for three weeks. Thousands of carved pumpkins will line the 1 mile walk through Camellia Forest and Oak Grove. Along with pumpkins, there will be exciting new oversized sculptures made of sticks and other natural materials. Carved will set an “harvest festival” ambiance at the Descanso Gardens with pumpkin carving demonstrations, a hay maze, and food and drinks.

South Bay Botanic Garden – The Haunted Hunt

September 24 through October 31

Come explore 87 acres and find an array of haunted houses throughout — whether they are haunted birdhouses, doll houses or Garden areas turned ghostly. This is the perfect fall activity for Garden visitors of all ages! Can’t find them all? Grab a map at our visitors service window for a little extra help! Best of all, this activity is included with the price of Garden admission September 24 through October 31!

Scarium of the Pacific

Oct 30-31
Discover the creatures lurking in the depths at the Aquarium of the Pacific’s twenty-second annual Scarium of the Pacific – a spooktacular educational Halloween event for the whole family.

Enjoy special Halloween programs, including the annual children’s costume contest, creepy coloring contest, magic shows, underwater pumpkin carving, spooky storytelling, kooky crafts, and eerie animals in the Great Hall.

HalloweenTime at Disneyland Resort & Disney’s California Adventure

September 3 to October 31, 2021
Spirit away for a spooky fun with themed attractions, entertainment, food and more.

Knott’s Spooky Farm

Saturdays & Sundays, Sept. 25 – Oct. 31
Enjoy the spooktacular Halloween season at Knott’s Spooky Farm, a family-friendly

Enjoy the spooktacular Halloween season at Knott”s Spooky Farm, an event full of Halloween activities for kids ages 3-11. Little ghouls can trick-or-treat through Ghost Town to collect sweet Halloween treats. Fun Halloween-themed shows are in store. Guests of all ages can learn about the creepy crawly critters occupying Ghost Town”s Livery Stable.

The Halloween Hootenanny returns as The Timber Mountain Log Ride transforms with spooky but family-friendly surprises. The fall daytime Seasons of Fun event is included with regular park admission or your Season Pass.

Irvine Park’s Railroad, Pumpkin Patch

September 18 – October 31, 2021
Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch in Orange County is fun for the entire family. Come out and enjoy the many activities for kids of all ages. The Pumpkin Patch is located just behind the train station and admission is FREE. Please note that a gate entrance fee will be charged by the County of Orange for each vehicle that enters Irvine Regional Park.

Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch

September 18 – October 31, 2021
Have you ever picked your own pumpkin right out of the pumpkin patch? Tanaka Farms is one of the only farms in Orange County with a REAL pumpkin patch! We offer lots of activities, from wagon rides to arts and crafts!

Boo-tastic Halloween Party at Adventure City

This Special Halloween Event is for 6 nights only! Choose either October 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd 28th or 29th 2021 Event time: 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm

This special event takes place on select days in October. Featuring 11 rides, shows and attractions, Trick-or-Treat Street, spook-tacular dance party, train ride scavenger hunt and more!

Nights of the Jack in Calabasis

October 1 through October 31, Daily from 6:00pm – 10:00pm

Nights of the Jack is the ultimate Halloween event and attraction for Angelenos and has become a staple of the Southern California Halloween season. Vast grounds of elaborate, larger-than-life pumpkin installations greet visitors as they walk through the trail around the history-filled ranch. Guests can treat themselves to hot cider, seasonal cocktails from the Spookeasy bar or festive fall treats while they feast their eyes on the spooky sights. 

Haunt of Halloween – Haunted Maze Attraction, Mission Viejo

Sept. 30-Oct. 31, 2021 on selected days/nights

RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN UNDER 12 YEARS OLD. Must be accompanied by an Adult. Haunt of Halloween shifts to “kid fun mode” on Sat. and Sun. 2-5PM. The Not-So-Scary Haunted Maze is great fun and ideal for guests ages 6 – 12, but it really, really depends on the child. You know your kid better than anyone. Kids can dress up and trick-or-treat their way through the haunt just without the fright! No special effects, scare-o-meter off and theatrical lights on.
