Every year, on the third Saturday in September, people join together at over 1,000 sites all over California to take part in the State’s largest volunteer event, California Coastal Cleanup Day. In 2017, volunteers removed over 800,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from California’s beaches, lakes, and waterways. Families, friends, coworkers, scout troops, school groups, service clubs, and individuals come together to celebrate and share their appreciation of California’s fabulous coast and waterways. The event is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, organized by the Ocean Conservancy, which is the largest volunteer event on the planet!
Come join us at Veteran’s Park in Redondo Beach. We’ll gather for a morning dive at 8:30 am in the parking lot and get in the water around 9:00. Look for the PW mats!
After the dive we’ll have pot luck lunch. We’re asking members to please bring a side dish (salads, rolls, dessert, finger foods, snacks, etc) to share with everyone.
Be sure to ‘RSVP’ by joining this event and leave a comment telling us what you’ll be bringing. See you there!!
