There are a lot of choices when it comes to picking a great school to attend in the South Bay. We are excited to introduce you to Limai Academy, a private school located in Gardena, CA. They have a lot to offer for your child’s education like their innovative STEAM programs, Individualized Learning Plan beginning in kindergarten, and smaller class sizes with a 10:1 student/teacher ratio in all the classes. This is a sponsored post, but we are selective on the companies we work with to ensure they align with our community.
Tell us about your school?
“Limai Academy is a K-12 private school for students in the South Bay. We focus on STEAM Education, which is science, technology, engineering, the Arts, and mathematics. We believe, and research has shown, that including the Arts in education improves the overall performance of a student in school. In addition to our smaller class sizes, we also provide our students with an Individualized Learning Plan. What is important about this plan is that each individual student is assessed to determine their strengths and weaknesses. Based upon this assessment, an education plan is developed for the student, so that the teachers can help each individual student excel further and provide them with the attention that they need. We like to say that ‘we teach to the student, not to the classroom’.”
What inspired the launch of this school?
“Our first school was started in Beijing in 1995 as an American and International school. The American schools and system is very popular internationally and appeals to families who want to send their children overseas for college. Our number of schools have grown over the years, and at present we have four schools in the U.S. including our new K-12 school in Gardena and three preschools in Orange County.”
What is one of your proudest moments?
“While we have many proud moments, for us at this new school, the opening of our Summer Camp in June was tremendous and we are looking forward to opening our Fall semester in September.
What can one expect when working with you/visiting your location?
As with all our students, we work with families on a one-to-one basis. From the communications between the teachers, students and parents to our whole staff at Limai Academy, we work with each family directly. We also utilize an online dashboard that both parents and student access so that students are aware of all assignments and projects, and parents are aware of their students’ progress. This open communication is very important to the success of a student in school.”
